Calisthenics Champion tries StreetLifting. Weighted Dips.
We are back in the gym so we can do a different type of workout from the usual.
You know I do usually train with my own bodyweight, except when I have to prevent and/or recover from injuries.
Today we are going to test how much strength you can get from training with your own bodyweight.
Streetlifting it’s trendy lately, even people who can’t do a single pull up wanna immediately start with some extra kg/lbs ahahah
Jokes aside….today I’m going to add some extra weight during the dips.
After every set I’ll increase the weight, let’s see where is my limit.
This video is for entertainment only, just to see if the skills I have learned through the years have some type of transfert.
A lot of people thinks that you must be short, small and with skinny legs to do calisthenics skills…I don’t agree with that.
I do really believe that recording a street lifting session will be much easier than recording my usual video full of skills, even if have never trained street lifting.
I have almost finished my pre-workout,
as always you can visit foodspring’s website and use my discount code larosaFSG if you are located in Europe.
Also remember to visit andrealarosa.fit for my pdf programs on the basics of calisthenics.
You’ll be able to download them directly on your phone
You can also visit andrealarosapro.com
For 1 new exclusive calisthenics routine every week.
I bought a belt just for this video…
Actually for this mini-serie, because I’d like to record some weighted pull ups and muscle ups too if there is interest.
final thoughts…
The main objective was to not get injured.
After the 100kg set I was afraid of hurting myself, since my body is not used to this type of stress.
You probably can notice that during the eccentric part of the sets
I wasn’t 100% sure of myself… But I think I have done pretty good.
Hopefully the more experienced street lifters won’t judge me for my poor executions,
probably the range of motion during the last sets wasn’t the best, but it is what it is.
With some specific work I think I can do 130kg with ease,
but I’m not interested in this type of training at the moment.
I’d like to focus on some ring skills for the next few months,
so I can finish my calisthenics journey after 10 years of workouts.
Please, let me know if you’d like to see more similar videos.
